Account Director - Experiential
(Dallas, TX)

retailcomm is seeking an Account Director to direct and manage small to large-scale client programs and experiential events from concept phase through completion, including execution and final measurement. The Account Director will manage and mentor junior account staff.

This position is responsible for implementing strategies to achieve company goals and growth objectives and for maintaining and building business through successful client and account service and management. This is accomplished through both a leadership role and as a direct contributor.

The retailcomm Account Director is a unique person who must easily be able to split his or her time between office work while also being able to seamlessly switch over to an in-the-field role. This position is involved with a high degree of client interaction and must be able to juggle multiple priorities at once.

Primary Responsibilities  (including but not limited to):

  • Direct, manage, cultivate, maintain, and grow ongoing client relationships, accounts, and services
  • Direct, manage, train, and develop new and existing team members
  • Lead team by example. Exhibit company DNA (Out Work, Out Think, Out Serve).
  • Ensure team provides outstanding services to clients and maintains positive relationships
  • Exhibit solid understanding of key client information including general business strategy, industry issues, products and services offered, and key customers and competitors in the marketplace
  • Exhibit solid understanding of program budget building, management, and reconciliation.
  • Maximize profitability through effective budget management and utilization of resources
  • Responsible for complete program and project budgets, cost reporting, and communication to Accounting
  • Develop and execute strategic and tactical event concept, development, digital strategy, and operations. Must ensure procurement of all necessary permits, event sanctions, vendors, Develop and execute strategic and tactical event concept, development, digital strategy, and operations. Must ensure procurement of all necessary permits, event sanctions, vendors, transportation, and other event logistical needs as well as securing all necessary staff, supplies, and equipment.
  • Responsible for overall event operations including project budgets, maintaining event and project workbooks, field staff, event equipment inventory, and transportation of equipment and supplies to and from event locations
  • Responsible for strategic program concepting with clients and internal team and must have ongoing interface and communication with clients and internal team
  • Responsible for measuring and evaluating the success of a project and developing future growth opportunities within a client
  • Coordinate Account Team workflow, prioritizing jobs and delegating duties
  • Monitor Account Team workflow to ensure jobs are completed efficiently, accurately, and within deadline
  • Lead and participate in field activations, including production, as needed
  • Maintain client inventory knowledge. Ensure and assist with accurate event asset builds, QC, and event transportation
  • Function as Point-of-Contact for account and field staff during live event executions, including weekend and evening assignments. Ensure Account Team maintains active communication with field staff during live event executions.
  • Execute Event Recaps and other necessary reporting for clients and executives as designated
  • Support business development growth and activities, including ideation, research, lead generation, proposal generation, and presentations
  • Implement a streamlined transition process from sales into account management

Essential Requirements of the Job:

  • 6 – 10 years related experiential event and field experience required.
  • Applicants with a college degree preferred but not required.
  • Up to 40% travel possible in this position. Event participation and travel is required.
